Design of an Active Façade System with Peltier Cells

Some of the collaborators of this blog and teachers of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, have developed a new HVAC system with Peltier cells. The result is an article in a peer reviewed magazine.

The proposal analyzes the advantages and drawbacks of this solution for an active façade and its different thermal behaviour in winter and summer. The Peltier cells are a great solution if its combined with a photovoltaic system to supply the necessary energy.

More studies and developments are being carried out and the construction of a new prototype is on its way.
