Big cities have big problems. One of them is smog. The result of pollution in cities is usually invisible. Nevertheless, in summer or in dry seasons, a cloud of smoke, better known as smog, appears in the sky. It implies obvious health problems (headaches, breathing difficulties, etc.) and even a blurred view. This project developed by Daan Roosegaarde, diminishes the smog of cities by cleaning up the air.
Smog Free Tower
The Smog Free Project is a tower of 6.5m high that purifies air. The technology implemented to clean the air is similar to that used in hospitals.Based on a ionic system, it can catch particles of 2.5 microns. The next video shows how the project works:
To make more tangible and real the effect of the tower, Daan Roosegaarde has designed small rings and plastic cubes that enclose the amount of particles 1,000 m3 have. After processing the air in the tower, the particles are gathered and enclosed in rings.
You can now collaborate in the Kickstarter campaign and make your donation. Depending on the amount you donate, you can even receive one of the first Smog Free Rings available. We also encourage you to visit Studio Roosegaarde website and know more about this project.
