Wind Tree. An energetic tree

Inspired by the natural movement of leafs, a group of French researchers have developed an outstanding solution to generate electricity. Making use of low-speed winds, this new kind of trees can produce energy noiselessly. Some first Wind Trees have already been installed in France.

Wind Tree characteristics

Thanks to the shape of the leafs, the Wind Tree can produce energy without wondering where the wind comes from. Moreover, it doesn’t require high speeds to work properly. With only 2 m/s speeds, they will be producing energy. Several Wind Trees can work at the same time in connection.

In the next video you can watch better how Wind Tree works:

Wind Tree is currently available in exhibition at the Place de la Concorde in Paris. It may be a great idea to visit it if you are hanging around Paris.

You can know more about Wind Tree in their website.
